About

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I’m so glad you’re here! Now that you’ve found your way to my little corner of the internet, I should catch you up to speed. Young & Joyful is my side hustle and passion project, run from my bedroom and various coffee shops.

I’m a California college student and aspiring writer, speaker, & musician. I love to read, write, travel, take pictures, write & play music, drink good coffee, hang out with cute dogs, thrift shop, watch sunsets, redecorate, shop for shoes — the list goes on and on.

I’m a sorority gal (Alpha Chi Omega), and after a tough freshman year of trying to bridge the gap between my faith and my membership in Greek life, I started a campus ministry for women in sororities called Greek Girls’ Group (or G3 for short). G3 works with Greek Intervarsity, a nationwide college campus ministry which seeks to make sure that every student in Greek life is just one friend away from knowing Jesus. It all began when I wanted to start a Bible study in my sorority house my sophomore year, and it has since grown into a campus-wide movement! It has been thrilling to see God move on my campus, and as I head into my senior year, I’m preparing to transition into coming on staff with Greek IV in order to run G3 and pastor students in Greek life as my full-time job. This ministry is quite literally my baby, and you’ll likely hear me talk about it on the blog! (Want to know more about G3? Check out @g3.ucsb on Instagram!)

In a nutshell, here’s why I started Y&J: I believe God gave me a gift for writing and a passion for using that gift to reach out to others, so I’m sharing my own experiences in hopes that you might be able to relate, learn, or feel like you have a friend here amidst the craziness of life. Much of what you’ll read here is about my walk with the Lord, the amazing things God has done in my life, and what I’m learning each and every day. Other times, I just love to write about whatever I’m interested in at the moment, including fashion, art, and travel.

I’m young and I don’t know what’s in store for me, but I rest assured that He does; therefore, I can be joyful. However you ended up here, I hope you’ll stick around. I would love to meet you.

Chat soon,

Brooke
